Ziro is a small picturesque destination with Pine and Bamboo groves, villages, a craft centre and Tarin Fish Farm which is located at a high altitude and also to see are the indigenous method of rice cultivation. The languages spoken here are Apatani, Nishi, Hindi, Assamese and English. The
ideal time to visit is from April to November. Heavy woollens are required
in Winters and cottons in Summers.
Nearest airports are Tezpur
and Lilabari. Nearest railway station is at Lakhmipur. Buses can be boarded
towards Ziro from Itanagar/Naharlagun and from North Lakhimpur.
Accommodation is available at Circuit House and Inspection Bungalow. Reservation authority lies with the Deputy Commissioner, Ziro. Ziro is an ideal place for trekking and hiking. |
