Tezu's main attraction is the Parasuram Kund especially during Winters when a fair is held during Makar-Sankranti. Pilgrims come from all over the country to take a holy dip in the kund to wash away their sins. There is a large lake called Glow Lake which can be reached on foot by one day of climbing up and down hills. Best season to visit Tezu
is from November to February.Though woollens are required in Winters cottons
are suitable for Summers.
Nearest airport is at Dibrugarh.
Nearest railway station is Tinsukia. One can reach Tezu by bus from Tinsukia
via Nansai and by ferry from Dhalaghat to Sadia and by bus from Sadia.
Accommodation is available at the Circuit House. Reservation authority lies with the Deputy Commissioner, Tezu. Tezu is ideal for trekking and hiking, river rafting and angling on the river Lohit. |
