Along is a small town with beautiful villages. One can visit the Mithun and Jersey
Cross Breeding Farm at Kamaki 25 kms away from here. Languages spoken here
are Adi, Hindi, Assamese and English.
Ideal time to visit is
from October to April. For clothing, woollens in Winters and cottons in
summers are suitable.
Nearest
airport is at Lilabari and and nearest railway station at Silapathar. One
can also reach by bus or car from Likabali and Pasighat.
Accommodation is available at Circuit House and Inspection Bungalow. Reservation authority lies with the Deputy Commissioner, Along. Along is ideal for trekking and hiking and angling on river Siyom. |
