Kabini
Kabini is best known for the Rajiv Gandhi Nagarhole National Park, the singularly spectacular wildlife sanctuary in South India. Here, home to the largest single population of elephants throughout Asia, the Asiatic Elephant reigns over many other forms of wildlife, from crocodile and leopard to more than 300 species of birds; it is also one of the best tiger habitats in all of India. The Kabini River Lodge, a paradise vacation spot for nature-lovers, is on the fringe of the Nagarhole National Park, and offers breathtaking views of the Kabini River and Park forests, and often whole herds of elephants at a time. Once the hunting lodge of the Maharaja of Mysore, the Kabini River Lodge is rated among the top wildlife resort destinations in the world.
